IN RE:
HB898 by Creighton (Relating to standards for power lines.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
According to the analysis by the Public Utility Commission (PUC), municipal electric utilities and electric co-ops would require minimal actions to implement the provisions of the bill. There may be significant savings, but those amounts would vary depending on current procedures, the size of the jurisdiction, and the number of lines. PUC also noted that distinguishing transmission and distribution lines from one another would maintain compliance with the National Electrical Safety Code; and distribution lines would meet the required clearance set forth for distribution lines rather than requiring that they meet the clearance requirements for transmission lines.
