No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to require Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) to implement additional program components and services for children and their nonoffending family members or other caregivers prior to entering into a contract with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
The bill would authorize DFPS to waive the requirements if the waiver would not adversely affect the center’s ability to carry out its duties.
According to DFPS, there would be no fiscal impact to the agency related to current contract processes, staff managing, or monitoring practices.
