Honorable José Menéndez, Chair, House Committee On Defense & Veterans' Affairs
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1368 by Bonnen, Dennis (Relating to hunting and fishing license fee exemptions for certain veterans.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend portions of the Parks and Wildlife Code relating to hunting and fishing licenses for disabled veterans. The definition of a qualified disabled veteran would be expanded to include the loss of an upper body extremity. The bill would provide that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission must waive the fee on a combination hunting and fishing license for a resident or non-resident qualified disabled veteran, as defined. To the extent the waiver of fees for the individuals, as described, would result in a revenue loss to the General Revenue-Dedicated Game, Fish and Water Safety Account No. 9, the loss is not anticipated to result in a significant fiscal implication to the account.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
