LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 8, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1376 by Kolkhorst (Relating to advertising by certain facilities that provide emergency services; providing an administrative penalty.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 241 of the Health and Safety Code by adding Subchapter H, related to advertising by certain facilities that provide emergency services. DSHS indicates that costs associated with promulgation of rules as a result of implementation of the bill would be absorbed by the agency. The agency also indicates that, given the small number of facilities in the category identified in the bill, it is not anticipated that revenues from potential administrative penalties would be significant.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
