FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 7, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1415 by Schaefer (Relating to the issuance of school district teaching permits to persons who teach only career and technology education classes.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Education Code to allow a school district to issue a teaching permit to a person who teaches only career and technology education classes without notifying the commissioner of education. The Texas Education Agency indicates the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by using existing resources. The bill would become effective immediately upon approval by the appropriate voting majorities, or on September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
