No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Water Code to authorize the commissioners court of a county to intervene as a party in a rate proceeding if the utility seeks to increase the rates by more than 25 percent; or the utility serves more than 3,000 ratepayers who reside in the county.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
