Honorable Linda Harper-brown, Chair, House Committee On Government Efficiency & Reform
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1487 by Harper-Brown (Relating to the searchable state expenditure database maintained by the comptroller.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 403 of the Government Code to require that the searchable state expenditure database maintained by the Comptroller of Public Accounts allow users to ascertain, for grant expenditures, the specific purposes for which the grant money was used. The agency estimates there would be a cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill. It is anticipated that the additional costs could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
