No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code and Education Code relating to the transfer of programs from the Texas Department of Rural Affairs to the Department of Agriculture. Senate Bill 2, Eighty-second Legislature, First Called Session, 2011, transferred the non-disaster related functions of the Texas Department of Rural Affairs to the Texas Department of Agriculture in fiscal year 2012. As the transfer of programs occurred in fiscal year 2012, no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
