No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 611 of the Health and Safety Code as it relates to access to a deceased person's mental health information.  The bill would modify the exception to confidentiality of mental health records to include access by certain individuals to the records of a deceased patient.  The Department of State Health Services indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
