HB1607 by Farney (Relating to the authority of the commissioners court of a county to alter speed limits on county roads.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to provide that a commissioners court may not establish a speed limit of more than 70 miles per hour on county roads. Under current statute, the limit is 60 miles per hour.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
