IN RE:
HB1713 by Lozano (Relating to reimbursing property owners for certain damages caused by criminal activities; authorizing a fee.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would create a mechanism to reimburse property owners for damages to a gate or fence caused by certain criminal activities by authorizing a fee which may be collected in certain cases when the judge grants community supervision.  Funds collected from the fee and from the proceeds of the sale of certain seized property would be kept in a fund in the treasury of the county in which the offense occurred and may be used only to reimburse property owners for damages to a gate or fence resulting from the commission of the specified criminal offenses.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
