Honorable Ryan Guillen, Chair, House Committee On Culture, Recreation & Tourism
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1718 by Guillen (Relating to the eligibility of certain terminally ill individuals to purchase a resident hunting license.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to allow a terminally ill person participating in an event sponsored by a charitable nonprofit organization, to be considered a "resident" for the purposes of a hunting license. The designation would have to be approved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) director. TPWD indicates it does not anticipate any significant costs or revenue loss under bill provisions.
The bill would be effective September 1, 2013.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
