No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Border Trade Advisory Committee to conduct a study regarding the effects on international trade of wait times at points of entry between the United States and the United Mexican States in Texas and submit a report to the Legislature on the results of the study. The bill would require the Texas Transportation Commission to assist with the study.

 

Based on the information provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
