IN RE:	HB1788 by Dale (Relating to the name of the Railroad Commission of Texas.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would change the name of the Railroad Commission of Texas to the Texas Energy Commission. It would provide that any reference in law to the Railroad Commission of Texas means the Texas Energy Commission; and a railroad commissioner or a member of the Railroad Commission of Texas means a member of the Texas Energy Commission.

Although the bill would require the Railroad Commission/Energy Commission to revise
documents, make changes to the agency's website, and replace signage, such costs are not
expected to be significant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
