No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code relating to fever tick eradication by the Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC). The bill amends provisions covering fever tick eradication within the Agriculture Code from livestock to include other types of animals and amends statute to include treatment beyond dipping as a means for fever tick eradication. TAHC reports the agency can implement provisions of the bill within existing resources, and no significant fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
