No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to eliminate straight-party voting for county or precinct offices. It would also require the Secretary of State (SOS) to prescribe procedures to inform voters that a straight-party vote does not count in an election for a county or precinct office.
SOS indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency’s existing resources.
