April 23, 2013

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1893 by Gonzales, Larry (Relating to the Texas Funeral Service Commission and the regulation of funeral directing and embalming.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the Texas Funeral Service Commission and the regulation of funeral directing and embalming.

Based on information provided by the Funeral Service Commission it is assumed that a revenue gain would be realized with the implementation of the bill; however, it is also assumed that the amount of revenue gain from the licensing collections would be insignificant.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
