HB2051 by Villalba (Relating to the authority of public institutions of higher education to make certain investments to support technology commercialization.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Education Code as it relates to the authority of governing boards of public institutions of higher education to enter in to agreements to make certain investments to support technology commercialization at the institutions by specifying that convertible notes are an acceptable asset a governing board could accept. Provisions of the bill could be implemented with existing resources.
