Honorable Juan Hinojosa, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2094 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to the regulation of roadside vendors and solicitors in certain counties.), As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize the commissioners court of a county with a population of more than 700,000 and less than 800,000 that borders the United Mexican States, by order, to regulate vendor sales of food or merchandise in the unincorporated area of the county with a speed limit of 40 miles per hour or faster. An applicable county could not regulate the sale of livestock. Based on the applicability criteria, the provisions would only apply to Hidalgo County.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
