TO: | Honorable Wayne Smith, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures |
FROM: | Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB2188 by Smith (Relating to the requirements for elevators, escalators, and related equipment; providing penalties.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code, Occupations Code, and Government Code relating to the requirements for elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
Based on the information provided by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, Department of Licensing and Regulation, and Office of Attorney General, it is assumed that changes in administrative penalties under the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant revenue impact. In addition, this analysis assumes that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered within existing resources.
