No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow a  sworn statement to support a search warrant to be provided by telephone or other appropriate means. The bill would require the magistrate to fully document the sworn affidavit provided by telephone.  The bill would allow a magistrate to electronically record any statement communicated under article 18.01(b), Code of Criminal Procedure. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
