IN RE:
HB2318 by Aycock (Relating to public school educator preparation and alternative certification programs.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code to require an educator preparation program to provide certain information to certification candidates. The bill would also require the State Board for Educator Certification to review and, as necessary, update standards and requirements for educator preparation and alternative certification programs. The Texas Education Agency indicates that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by using existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if approved by appropriate voting majorities, or on September 1, 2013

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
