IN RE:
HB2501 by Bohac (Relating to an identifying number assigned to a notary public by the secretary of state.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Secretary of State to assign each notary public, who applies for a commission or a reappointment on or after the effective date of the bill, an identifying number and keep a record of each number assigned. The Secretary of State indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
This bill would take effect January 1, 2014.
