IN RE:
HB2517 by Springer (Relating to the authority of counties to require a person to notify a local fire department before starting an outdoor fire; creating a criminal penalty.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to provide that a county may require a person to notify the fire department before starting an outdoor fire. An offense for a violation would be a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500.
Local Government Impact
There could be a revenue gain to a county for fines collected; however, the amounts would vary depending on the number of violations and the amount of the fine imposed.
