HB2595 by Parker (Relating to the value of personal property that is exempt from seizure to pay a crime victim under an order of restitution.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Property Code as it relates to the exemption of certain personal property from attachment or seizure in orders of restitution in criminal cases. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The Office of the Attorney General does not anticipate the bill resulting in a fiscal impact to the agency.

 

The change in law would apply only to a restitution order for an offense committed on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. 


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
