FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 8, 2013

TO:

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2620 by Collier (Relating to the creation of a task force on domestic violence.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to establish and appoint 20 members to a task force on domestic violence. The bill would require the task force to meet and report on findings related to the impact of domestic violence, health services, educational information, and coordination of services for victims of domestic violence. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. If not, the bill will take effect September 1, 2013.

The agency estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.
