IN RE: | HB2644 by Turner, Chris (Relating to the scope of a health care liability claim.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code relating to the scope of and standing for certain health care liability claims. The bill specifies that it is intended to clarify rather than change existing law. The bill would take effect immediately if receiving a two-thirds vote of each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill.
