The bill would amend the Education Code to require a personal financial literacy credit as part of the enrichment curriculum. Based on the analysis of the Texas Education Agency, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by using existing resources. The bill would become effective immediately upon approval by appropriate voting majorities, or on September 1, 2013.
