No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a municipality to establish standards that require a retail public utility or an investor-owned utility to provide sufficient water flow to provide adequate pressure to fire suppression systems and equipment.
 
The bill would amend the Water Code to authorize a municipality to require a retail public utility to provide service or operate facilities inside the boundaries of the municipality to provide the same manner of service that the municipality would provide to operate the facilities.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
