No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would allow individuals to choose to resolve their case through a plea while detained in jail.  No significant fiscal impact to the court system is anticipated. 

Local Government Impact

Local governments would see savings as a result of detainees being held in jail for less time and from having cases resolved quicker; these savings would vary depending on the number of applicable cases and number of defendants who choose to issue a plea while detained in jail.
