HB2691 by Elkins (Relating to the permissible noise level of a sound emitted from a motor vehicle audible warning device.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to stipulate that a warning device, including a horn, may not exceed a decibel level set by the Department of Public Safety. It is assumed the costs associated with implementing this provision could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
