IN RE:
HB2692 by Crownover (Relating to the authority of certain municipalities to establish an economic development program to promote the construction of small-scale electric generating facilities.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 380 of the Local Government Code to authorize certain municipalities to establish an economic development program to promote the construction of “small-scale electric generating facility,” and would provide procedures regarding the administration of a program.
Local Government Impact
There would be some costs to an applicable municipality that chose to establish an economic development program to make loans and grant public money; however, the amounts would vary depending on the type of program and the administrative and operational costs. It is assumed that an applicable municipality would establish a program only if sufficient resources are available or it would not result in a negative fiscal impact.
The Texas Municipal League reported no significant fiscal impact to cities is anticipated.
