No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the employment of an attorney by the Texas Funeral Service Commission.  The bill would remove the restriction prohibiting the agency from employing staff attorney positions by repealing Section 651.060(b) of the Occupations Code.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote from all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
