LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2013

TO:
Honorable Joe Deshotel, Chair, House Committee on Land & Resource Management

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2724 by Otto (Relating to the transfer of certain state property in Walker County from the Texas Board of Criminal Justice to the board of regents of the Texas State University System.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Board of Criminal Justice to donate and transfer to the Board of Regents at the Texas State University System real property as described under the provisions of the bill. The transferred state property would be used by Sam Houston State University for a purpose that benefits the public interest of the State. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, General Land Office, and Texas State University System have determined that the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
