No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to disputing the certification of maximum medical improvement and evaluation of impairment rating.  The bill would allow an individual to contest a certification of maximum medical improvement or impairment rating by filing a written contest with the Division of Workers' Compensation at the Texas Department of Insurance.

Based on information provided by the Department of Insurance and the Office of Injured Employee Counsel, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
