LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 1, 2013

TO:
Honorable Wayne Smith, Chair, House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2884 by Smith (Relating to alcoholic beverage license applications and fees.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 61 of the Alcoholic Beverage Code relating to alcoholic beverage license applications and fees. It is assumed that implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing state agency resources.

The change in law made by this Act applies only to a license application filed on or after the effective date of this Act. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.

Local Government Impact

The bill reduces administrative duties with liquor license applications for county judges, county clerks, and county tax assessors. However, savings due to reduced workload are not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.
