HB2898 by Miller, Doug (Relating to the definition of victim for the purpose of restitution liens.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add to the definition of "victim" a provision which would include an individual who suffers financial damages as a result of another committing a felony offense under Title 7, Penal Code.  This relates to the definition of victim for the purpose of restitution liens.

According to analysis by the Office of Court Administration, the Comptroller of Public Accounts, and the Department of Motor Vehicles, any impact related to the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
