The bill would amend the Estates Code to adopt a new statutory durable power of attorney form. It is not anticipated that the bill will result in a significant fiscal impact to the court system. The change in law would only apply to a power of attorney executed on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect January 1, 2014.
