Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Transportation
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2921 by Orr (Relating to the composition and governance of a regional tollway authority.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 366 of the Transportation Code to provide that a county that is not part of an authority and in which a turnpike project is located would become part of the authority on the date the authority determines that certain criteria are met as defined by the provisions. Under current statute, Chapter 366 only applies to the North Texas Tollway Authority.
The Texas Department of Transportation reported no fiscal impact is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
