No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the administration of an immunization or vaccination by a pharmacist. The bill would require physicians to prescribe the time period and format in which a pharmacist must notify a physician after an immunization or vaccination is administered to a patient. The bill would require the time period for a pharmacist to provide notice to a physician be no later than the 14th day after the date the immunization or vaccination is administered.

Based on information provided by the Board of Pharmacy and the Texas Medical Board, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
