FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 21, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2952 by Rodriguez, Justin (Relating to the period of time allowed for issuance of decisions by the commissioner of education in certain appeals against school districts.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the commissioner of education to issue a decision within 180 days of an appeal against a school district related to actions or decisions by a school district board of trustees.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Education Agency, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
