LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 7, 2013

TO:
Honorable Allan Ritter, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2987 by Davis, John (Relating to certain water districts that do not provide water and sanitary sewer service to certain users in the districts' territory.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain water districts that do not provide water and sanitary sewer utility service to pay a municipality or a governmental agency that provides such services to households within the district; and would specify payment requirements.

Local Government Impact

There could be costs to a water district that does not currently provide services to households that would be required to pay a municipality or a governmental agency for providing services; however, the amounts would vary depending on the number of applicable water districts, the number of households that would need services, and the costs of the services provided.
