HB3018 by Gutierrez (Relating to amounts paid by a county for the operation and administration of a county or district attorney's office.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to provide that a county may not reduce the amount paid to a district or county attorney for the purpose of carrying out the official duties of the attorney's office or for expenses incident to the operation of the office.
 
The Office of Court Administration indicated, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

The Comptroller of Public Accounts contacted Maverick and Mason counties to determine the fiscal impact. The Maverick County Auditor's Office indicated that no fiscal implications are anticipated. The Mason County Treasurer's Office indicated that the attorney is paid the amount established and approved by the commissioners court and the amount of compensation is never reduced. Based on the information obtained from the sample cities, no significant fiscal impact to units of local government is anticipated.
