No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the use of the skills development fund and other funds available to the Texas Workforce Commission to support certain joint credit courses offered by school districts under agreements with lower-division institutions of higher education.

Based on information provided by the Texas Workforce Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  In addition, the bill has no direct fiscal implications for the Foundation School Program or the operations of the Texas Education Agency.


Local Government Impact

Funding would be available through school districts and lower-division institutions of higher education to develop and maintain CTE dual credit courses and programs for some school districts.
