FROM: | Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB3058 by Herrero (Relating to restricting access to records of children convicted of or receiving deferred disposition for certain fine-only misdemeanors.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend Article 44.2811, Code of Criminal Procedure, to expand confidentiality of a child's records to apply to a child who received a dismissal after deferred disposition for a fine-only misdemeanor other than a traffic offense.
The Office of Court Administration reported that the bill may result in fewer expunctions (and the associated $30 fee), however fiscal impact to state and local judiciaries are is not expected to be significant.
