No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 32 of the Texas Human Resources Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) or an agency operating part of the medical assistance program as appropriate, to develop and implement managed care contracting pilot programs to encourage managed care contracting with health care collaboratives as defined by Section 848.001 of the Texas Insurance Code. Subsection 32.492 of the bill describes the requirements for the implementation, location and duration of the pilot programs. 
                                                   
The Department of Insurance and HHSC indicate the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
