HB3170 by Bohac (Relating to persons excused from jury service.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to include the county election official among parties receiving notice of certain juror disqualification. The bill would also amend the Election Code to require that a registrar cancel a voter registration upon receiving certain notice that a voter is not a United States citizen.

 

The Secretary of State reports that the bill will not have a significant fiscal impact on the agency. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The bill would take effect immediately if receiving a two-thirds vote of each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2013.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
