No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would amend the Government Code to require the Office of the Governor to facilitate the location, expansion, and retention of firearm and ammunition manufacturers to the state, and to negotiate on behalf of the state in such facilitations through the issuance of funds from the Texas Enterprise Fund or through other incentives and provisions of the law.
The Office of the Governor indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; otherwise, it would take effect on September 1, 2013.
