No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to specify the procedural requirements for bringing a suit for a writ of mandamus related to the Public Information Act and compelling the release of information by a governmental body. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
