No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to preferred provider and exclusive provider network regulations; providing administrative sanctions and penalties. The bill would apply to an insurance policy that is delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed on or after January 1, 2014, and take effect September 1, 2013.

Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance, Teacher Retirement System, University of Texas System and Texas A&M University System, it is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation of this bill would be absorbed within existing staff and resources.
